We built Work Request Review and Approval to solve that. This new feature gives maintenance and operations teams the power to approve or decline requests before they become tasks, so only the right work makes it through. The result is less noise, cleaner data, and more control over what the team spends their time on.
The value of adding a review step
Previously, requests submitted through the portal were automatically converted into tasks and routed using pre-set rules. Now, with Work Request Review and Approval, you can add an optional approval step to review incoming requests before they’re assigned. Whether a request needs more detail or should be handled by a different team, reviewers can quickly approve or decline it, log a reason, and keep things moving.
What’s new
With this feature, customers can:
- Review and approve or decline each request before it becomes a task
- Assign reviewers by role to triage requests by location
- Log decline reasons for compliance and visibility
- Send automated status updates to requesters when a request is approved or declined
- Access declined requests for reference and audit trails
Requests now enter a Pending state and live on a new Requests page until approved or declined. Technicians only see approved work, helping them stay focused and productive.
