Product Info

The 30GT080-420 Flotronic™ liquid chillers are equipped with electronic controls and factory-installed options (FIOPs). The chillers have electronic expansion valves (EXV) as standard, with conventional thermostatic expansion valves (TXV) and liquid line solenoid valves as options on 30GT080-110 units only.

Preventive Maintenance Schedule

Every 6 Months:

  • Clean condenser coils
  • Check operation of safety devices

Daily:

  • Check oil level in compressor sight glass
  • Verify electrical power source agrees with unit nameplate

Monthly:

  • Check tightness of all electrical connections
  • Verify crankcase heaters are energized for at least 24 hours prior to start-up

Every 8000 Hours:

  • Replace filter drier if moisture-liquid indicator shows presence of moisture

Troubleshooting

  • Refrigerant leak:
    • Use standard refrigeration practices to search for and repair the leak
    • After repairing leaks, evacuate and dehydrate the system

    • Check operation of the EXV by cycling it open and closed
  • Tripped compressor circuit breaker:
    • Determine and correct the cause of the overload before resetting the breaker
    • Do not bypass or increase the size of the breaker
  • Low oil pressure:
    • Check the low oil pressure switch
    • Replace the compressor if the low oil pressure condition cannot be corrected
  • Cooler freeze-up:
    • Ensure the cooler heaters and insulation are properly installed and functioning
    • Use an inhibited ethylene glycol or other suitable antifreeze solution in the chilled liquid circuit
