Product Info
SIRIUS 3RW30 and 3RW40 soft starters are electronic motor control devices that facilitate optimal starting and stopping three-phase induction motors. They reduce the motor voltage through variable phase angle control and increase it from a selectable starting voltage up to the mains voltage within a definable ramp-up time, limiting the starting current and torque.
Preventive Maintenance Schedule
Daily:
- Check voltages and wiring
- Start up the motor and optimize parameters if necessary
Monthly:
- Document parameter settings if required
Parts List
- SIRIUS 3RW30 soft starter: Standard applications in three-phase systems up to 55 kW (at 400 V) (Part Number: 3RW30..)
- SIRIUS 3RW40 soft starter: Standard applications in three-phase systems up to 250 kW (at 400 V), with additional integrated functions such as settable current limiting, motor overload and intrinsic device protection, and optional thermistor motor protection (Part Number: 3RW40..)

Troubleshooting
- Impermissible electronics supply voltage:
- Check the control supply voltage
- Bypass overload:
- Check the motor and load, and check the soft starter’s dimensions
- Missing load voltage, phase failure / missing load:
- Connect L1 / L2 / L3 or correct the voltage dip
- If the motor current is less than 10% of the soft starter’s rated current, the motor cannot be operated with this starter. Use another soft starter.
- Device fault:
