Product Info

The ECx is an automatic sprinkler system timer that can control up to 8 watering zones. It offers 3 independent watering programs with 4 start times per day, calendar or interval day scheduling, and 1 minute to 4 hour zone run times. The timer has a battery backup, automatic pump start, seasonal run time adjust, rain delay, and rain sensor capabilities.

Preventive Maintenance Schedule

Annually:

  • Replace the fuse if necessary
  • Add or replace zone control modules as needed

Daily:

  • Check for any leaks or malfunctioning valves
  • Visually inspect the timer display for any error messages or issues

Monthly:

  • Clean the timer housing and wipe down the display
  • Check the battery and replace if necessary

Weekly:

Troubleshooting

  • The display is blank and the timer does not operate:
    • Replace the battery
    • Check and replace the fuse if blown
    • Verify the transformer wires are connected and the transformer is plugged in
    • Check the circuit breaker for the wall outlet
  • Watering programs start at unscheduled times:
    • Shorten zone run times
    • Space program start times farther apart
  • Watering zone does not turn on:
    • Check the wire connections at the control valve and controller
    • Enter a zone run time
  • Watering zone does not turn off:
    • Inspect, clean and/or replace the valve solenoid
  • Program restarts unexpectedly after completion:
    • Remove additional program start times
    • Set Season Adjust to 100%
